Si racconta che agli inizi del XX secolo un veliero dal nome Balear affondasse nel tratto di mare antistante la costa algherese dove ora sorge l'Hotel che ha preso il suo nome.
L'Hotel El Balear è l'unico albergo nel centro città, categoria Tre Stelle, di fronte al mare.
Progettato dal famoso architetto Antonio Simon Mossa (Palau de Valencia, Escala del Cabirol) si trova a breve distanza dal centro storico e commerciale, circa 400 metri percorrendo il Lungomare Dante della città catalana di Alghero.
Con l'attraversamento del Lungomare si può accedere a 50 metri ad una spiaggetta e, di fronte, ad una piattaforma in cemento realizzata sulla scogliera.
L'Hotel offre alla propria clientela ogni tipo di comfort, terrazza bar con tavolini e poltrone, spaziosa hall, sala TV, sala riunioni con porticato.
Tutti gli ambienti sono climatizzati.
È disponibile il servizio di noleggio biciclette, Internet Point e Wi-Fi Zone.
All'interno dell'hotel è garantito silenzio e riposo.
La direzione è affidata agli stessi proprietari.
A disposizione 55 camere tutte con bagno privato (doccia o vasca e asciugacapelli), TV satellitare, telefono con collegamento diretto con l'esterno, balcone e aria condizionata.
Alcune camere sono con vista sul mare altre hanno vista sul nostro giardino interno.
Il giardino interno è immerso in un verde attentamente curato, all'interno del quale è possibile posteggiare moto e biciclette.
Nel ristorante sul mare si può gustare un'ottima e accurata cucina ammirando lo splendido panorama.
