Description
Winding up from Bormio to the Stelvio Pass, curve after curve and there it is. -- the Folgore Hotel and its restaurant, with a panoramic view over the valley and ample parking lot. The restaurant, with its customary, family-style hospitality offers you an inviting menu of Valtellinese cuisine: wooden platters of bresaola, smoked ham, and salami with ceps, first courses made with buckwheat (pizzoccheri-sciatt) and of, course, not to be missed: polenta with sausages, mushrooms, and Alpine cheeses.
All served with carefully selected red wines of Valtellina (Sassella Sforzato Grumello and Inferno).
The Folgore Hotel is situated 200 meters from the ski-lift facilities and in autumn, after the first snowfalls, just close to the cross-country skiing trail where the world's greatest champions train.
The rooms all have a panoramic view and are modernly furnished with private baths, telephones, and TVs.
