Market Cross Guest House is 200 years old and formerly part of a coaching house where Steve and Amanda offer you luxury accommodation and excellent food.

Situated in the centre of the quiet village of Belford Market Cross is an ideal base from which to explore many of the outstanding attractions that Northumberland has to offer.

We are close to the miles of beautiful coastline, the unspoilt Cheviot Hills and numerous castles and monuments of this historic county. Among them are Bamburgh Castle, Lindesfarne (Holy Island), Alnwick Castle and gardens, (locations for the harry Potter films), the Farne Islands, Cragside and many more.

While all our rooms are appointed to the highest standard, everyone always has a preference. Whether it’s a very large room in which to stretch out after your busy day exploring, or a free standing roll top bath as an extra indulgence at the end of your day we have something for everyone.

Each room has its own en-suite shower room or bathroom all with soft fresh bath sheets, bathrobes and complimentary toiletries including local handmade soaps from Ginger Duck.

They also all have a Nespresso coffee machine, kettle and a full hospitality tray with a selection of teas, other drinks and homemade treats. DAB radio alarm clocks with iPod dock, LCD TVs with Freeview, iron/ironing board, hairdryer. Mini fridges are available.

If you’re not relaxed enough already, on the landing between the bedrooms is a console table where you can help yourself to a glass of sherry or Lindesfarne Mead.

We also know that sometimes we forget the occasional “essential” item and in the drawer in the console table you will find the “Oh I’ve forgotten to bring my...” emergency supplies.
